Timing and Scoring

Timing for this race will be done using the MYLAPS “Chip on the Bib”.

Please note the following to ensure you are using this Timing Chip properly:

  • You must wear your bib. It must be worn on the front of your shirt. NOTE! It is preferable that you wear the bib so that the number is visible from the front so that you can be identified by the race officials.

  • DO NOT crumple or fold the bib as this will break the transponder antenna.

  • DO NOT place the bib between your body and your child’s (i.e. this is what happens when you carry your child when finishing the race). This action will prevent the transponder from sending its signal.

  • DO NOT remove your shirt and carry it folded up in your hand. This action may prevent the transponder from sending its signal if the bib itself is folded or inside your moist shirt.

  • The Timing Chip is disposable so there is no need to return it after the race. If you wish to RECYCLE the TIMING CHIP please leave it affixed to the bib and turn in the entire bib at the finish line.

Awards and Results

Results will be announced at Clam Beach and will be available online here and the EnMotive Hub.  Awards can be obtained by emailing trinidadtoclambeach@gmail.com.

Use the QR code on your bib to take you directly to the results website.

NOTE: T-shirts will not be mailed.

Shoes and Clothing

Shoes can be left at the South bank of the Little River and will be carried to the Finish Line for pick-up. The event is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Parking

Beach Finish

The course starts in the quaint town of Trinidad and continues along paved level road and over undulating hills covered in redwoods and ferns, overlooking the gorgeous cliffs over the ocean. before crossing over the Little River and ending on Clam Beach State Park.

The Little River crossing is done at low tide to minimize the water depth.  Depending on the amount of recent rainfall, the water depth can vary. A rope is in place to assist runners as well as Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers stationed near by for assistance.

Once the river has been crossed, a 2 mile length across hard packed sand remains before crossing the finish line. We will celebrate your victory with a roaring bon fire, bowl of hot chili and music by the HSU Marching Lumberjacks!

The Course

The weather this time of year can be cool and wet. Heavy rain is a possibility.

No changing spaces provided. Portable bathroom facilities are available at the start and finish.
